Turkish mercenaries cut down hundreds of trees for building new settlements in Afrin

A source said that Turkish occupation mercenaries cut down nearly 100 olive trees belonging to occupied Afrin Canton' people, which is located between the villages of "A'alka" and "Kafrouma" of Shra district in AfrinCanton.

The source added that one of the goals for cutting down the trees is to cut them down and sell them in the markets, and build new settlements in their place to settle mercenary families and with the aim of demographics changing the region, exterminating the Kurdish people and displacing the rest of them.

On the other side, a source from Mobato district "Ma'abatli", said that "A'amashat" mercenaries cut down large areas of forest trees located between the villages of "Haj Qassem" and "Mssit Ashura", in order to trade in them, build military bases and settlements.

Afrin Canton already includes many settlements established by Turkish occupation state with the help of some Gulf organizations working with the occupying state.

Following the occupation of Afrin on March18 2018,  300,000 citizens from Afrin were displaced because of the Turkish occupation state and entered 400,000 settlers in one of the largest processes of demographic change that Syria has witnessed since the beginning of its crisis in the spring of 2011.
