35 Syrians including a woman and 8 children were killed by Turkish's gendarmerie during 2021

The number of Syrian civilians who were killed by the Turkish "gendarmerie" during the year 2021, while trying to cross the Syrian-Turkish border, reached 35 people, including a woman and 8 children.

During the year 2021, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented killing of 35 civilians, including a woman and 8 children by Turkish "gendarmerie", while they were trying to cross the Syrian-Turkish border.

24 of them died in Idlib, including a woman and 5 children, and 9 civilians, including 3 children who died in Hasaka, one in Raqqa and another in Aleppo.

According to the statistics of SOHR, August witnessed the highest monthly killing rate by the "gendarmerie" with 8 cases, followed by September and April with 5 cases each, then March and November with 3 cases each, whereas January, February, May, June and December with two cases two for each, and finally July and October with one case each. SOHR demanded that the file of the killing on the border strip with Turkey be referred to the specialized international courts so that the killers of the Syrian people would be punished.
