Turkish state must be punished for the continuous violations in occupied territories

 Four Syrian human rights and humanitarian organizations recently submitted a complaint to the United Nations headquarters on freedom of religion and the rights of indigenous peoples, about the destruction and desecration of the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation of a number of cemeteries and shrines in occupied Afrin and turning them into a cattle market.

 This comes against the background of the recent destruction by the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries of a number of cemeteries and shrines in Afrin, including the shrine of the martyr "Rafiq" in the village of Matina, Sheran district, the shrine of the martyr "Sayydo" in the village of Qazqli of the district of Janders, and the shrine of the martyr "Avesta"  Khabour" on the road to the village of Kafr Shel, in the center of the city of Afrin, and turned it into a market for livestock.

 On this issue, the co-chair of the Martyrs’ Families Council in Manbij and its countryside, Rabie Ezz El-Din, said, “The Turkish occupation state is striving to strike security and stability and thwart the democratic nation’s project in the regions of north and east Syria. We have seen its crimes against all the people without distinguishing between one component or another."

 Rabie continued his speech by saying that "the Turkish occupation also seeks to change the original identity in the occupied lands, especially in the city of Afrin, through its practice of immoral and inhuman crimes such as killing, kidnapping and destruction of the shrines and shrines of martyrs."

 He asked, "Which item or religion does the Turkish occupying state rely on to commit such crimes? It claims to be an Islamic state. Do cemeteries or tombs of martyrs have no sanctity? How do they do these actions in cold blood without feeling any responsibility?"

 The co-chair of the Martyrs' Families Council in Manbij and its countryside concluded his speech by saying that "despite the complaints that have been submitted to the United Nations, it has so far been silent. Therefore, we call on the international community and human rights organizations to take a serious stand against these acts, and to punish the Turkish state for these continuous violations."  human rights in the occupied territories.
