Danish newspaper calls for release of Ocalan.

The Danish newspaper (Înformatîon) published an announcement calling for the release of leader Ocalan and condemning his isolation in Imrali prison.

On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the Danish newspaper (Înformatîon) published an announcement about the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, reported by Al- Furat News Agency. The announcement reads: “Today, December 10th is International Human Rights Day which is a good opportunity for setting the leader free. The hero of the Kurdish people freedom, who has been detained since the fifteenth of February 1999 in Imrali Island prison.

Worth mentioning that CPT had published a report on the conditions of Imrali prison in August 2020, in which it confirmed that the leader Ocalan is suffering from difficult and inhuman conditions, which is inconsistent with human rights in the world and the international standards, along with The European Committee against Torture in Prisons called for changing Imrali prison conditions and other prisons.

Since August 7, 2019, lawyers have not been able to meet with leader Ocalan, as the last time Ocalan spoke with his brother via the phone was on April 27, 2020, and this means a violation of human rights and the United Nations standards.

In October 2020, the House of Representatives of the European Council had, in turn, cleared that the situation in Turkey had not improved, with pressure and repression against the internal political opposition.

The announcement also included the address of Leader Ocalan's Freedom Initiative website, as well as links of Leader's books.

Înformatîon newspaper was founded by the news service in forces of resistance against German occupation, Burg Kotz was founded on May 5, 1945 in the building of a former Nazi newspaper. The newspaper is supported by the Înformatîon Staff Association and the Friends of Knowledge Association, which has 450 members.
