​​​​​​​Turkish court sentences Leyla Guven to 5 years in prison

 The lawsuit, which was filed against the KCD co-chair and former Gulmerc Representative Leyla Goven prior to her 15th 2020 speech, has been adjourned to the fourth session of sentencing.

 The indictment against her is based on the phrases: "leader Abdullah Ocalan's call for peace is very important, the isolation imposed in Imrali must be ended, the health and safety of Leader Abdullah Ocalan must be preserved, which will bring peace to the Middle East," which Goven made in her speech, where this regulation accuses Goven of "contempt for the state," "inciting people to hatred and enmity," and "praising crime and criminals."

 The second criminal court in Colemêrg considered the case again.

 Goven participated in the court session from the closed type E women's prison in Elazig via the audio-visual communication system (SEGBÎS).

 The hearing was held in Amed Court, in the presence of defense attorney Sardar Chalabi.

 The court sentenced Leyla Guven to five years in prison for "propaganda for the organization" during the sentencing hearing.
