Serêkaniyê IDPs Committee calls upon a safe return without the presence Turkish occupation, its gangs

This came in response to the visit of the head of the so-called "interim government of the Syrian coalition", Abdul Rahman Mustafa, last Sunday, accompanied by some of the paid figures of the Turkish occupation, to the occupied area of Serêkaniyê, and he called on the IDPs to return to their homes.

In this context, today, the Serêkaniyê IDPs Committee issued a written statement to the public opinion, stressing that these calls came after the failure of their predecessors in calling for the so-called “deputy of the coalition forces” called, Abdel Hakim Bashar.

The statement reads:

"Since the beginning of its aggressive expansionist project in Syria, the Turkish occupation has been working to legitimize it through cheap or imported domestic tools to inspire the world, and to deceive its people who are revolting against it at home at the present time, and to extend its authority, which it claims is derived from the components of the region. As Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan knocks on the drums of war and alerts his forces and clients, those who operate under his orders.”

These calls came after the failure of the previous ones, the last of which was the call of the so-called deputy coalition forces called (Abdel Hakim Bashar), which was not heeded and was met with strong rejection and disapproval, as well as two days after the Turkish Ministry of Defense published video clips of its forces on the occupied lands of Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain to intimidate innocent civilians; After the bankruptcy of his bet on the personalities, parties and entities affiliated with the coalition forces cooperating with him in persuading our people in Afrin, Serê Kaniyê and Tal Abyad to return without guarantees and with the continuation of the occupation.

The Minister of Administration of the puppet government (Mohammad Saeed Suleiman) also claimed the return of between 20-25 Yazidi families to Ras al-Ain. This claim is contrary to the truth and is a figment of the imagination and media promoting only, and its aim is to beautify the image of the occupier and cover up the atrocities committed until this moment.

Over the course of two years of the occupation, many violations and crimes were committed against the people of the Serêkaniyê / Ras al-Ain area, according to official human rights organizations.

We, As Ras al-Ain IDPs Committee reaffirm our insistence on the right to a safe and dignified return, and this return will not take place without ending the Turkish occupation and the excluding of its mercenaries and tools that participated in the crime, and the calls for return by these parties and people under the occupation, it will certainly entail legal accountability and will bear responsibility for its actions.

We also call upon the States that guarantee the Ceasefire Agreement in north-eastern Syria, both Russia and the United States of America, to call upon the Turkish occupier and its agents to threaten our safe zones and to work to remove them from the occupied areas, which have become den of terrorism and extremism.
