Ocalan's lawyers apply for access

Nevroz Uysal, İbrahim Bilmez, Mazlum Dinç and Serbay Köklü all submitted a request to Prosecutor's Office in the city of Bursa and to the Imrali Prison Administration, to meet their client.

Lawyers also submitted a request to meet the 3 other detainees held in Imrali (Omar Khairy Konar, Hamili Yldirım and Wese Aktash).

In September 2018, Imrali prison administration imposed sanctions on leader Ocalan, under the pretext of "walking", and prevented him from meeting his family for three months, as the sanction came into effect on September 14 of the same year.

The last meeting with the leader was on the 25th of last March, via a phone call with his brother, Muhammad Ocalan, that lasted 5 minutes.

While the last meeting with leader with his lawyers, Rezan Sarica and Nowroz Uysal, was on August 7, 2019, since then, the Turkish state imposed strict isolation on the leader Ocalan, who has been detained since 1999 in Imrali prison.

The leader was arrested in an international conspiracy, that began on October 9, 1998, when he was on his way from Syria to Moscow, to be arrested on February 15, 1999 in Kenyan capital, Nairobi, and handed over to the Turkish state.
