Germany…Afrinians decry international silence towards Turkish crimes in Afrin

At the invitation of the National Initiative for Afrin, the Afrin people in the diaspora organized yesterday a protest stand in which dozens of Afrin people and a number of national organizations and figures participated calling on the international community to end the occupation, and secure the safe return of the people to their homes and properties, in the German capital, Berlin, according to the Furat news agency.

The participants made a statement, in which it was stated that "ethnic, cultural and economic genocide against the people of the Afrin region continues on a daily basis without any moral or legal deterrent from any international actor, despite the confirmation by the reports of the United Nations Independent International Commissions of Inquiry that violations against the indigenous people of the region that are considered as war crimes and against humanity."

"Nevertheless, killings, rapes, abductions, forced concealment, the seizure of property, the construction of settlements, the imposition of royalties on farmers, seasons and trees, and the imposition of a ban on the cultural life of the people of the region continue with the support of the Turkish occupation and some of its Syrian opposition parties and with funding from Muslim Brotherhood States and regimes, which seek to obliterate every Kurdish landmark in the region."

"Taking into account the historical responsibility of the natives and patriots of the Afrin region, the Initiative decided to start its activities in order to achieve its objectives by raising the voice of the victims of the Afrin region in the international arena by launching an invitation to the Syrian community to organize a protest in the capital, Berlin, aimed at exposing the crimes of Turkey and its mercenary terrorists and extremists."

The statement stressed that "the event that was organized today, in Berlin, is the beginning of a series of events and activities, which will be carried out in an ascending manner and at all levels, to reach the stage of criminal and judicial prosecutions for all those who committed these violations against the people of the Afrin region and their supporters, financiers and political fronts that are trying to hide these crimes.
