Kassargian: Turkish accusations regarding Bayik's meaningless

on 26 and 27 October the Lebanese paper al- Nahar, published an interview carried out by Sarkis Kassargian with the Co-chair of KCK Cemil Bayik on which he was accused by the Turkish embassy in Beirut of adopting a propaganda in favor of Kurdistan Workers' Party.

Kassargian published a clarification on his Facebook account saying:

Conducting interviews with influential figures is the core of ant independent journalist body or association. I would like to call the attention of the Turkish embassy that Turkish media was not an exclusion to this. Turkish veteran journalist Mohamed Ali Brand carried out an interview with leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party, Abdullah Ocalan in the famous TV program Gun 32, in nineties of the last century. …..examples in this relation are countless… but I wished the Turkish message included a reply to claims made by Mr. Bayik of usage of chemical weapons by the Turkish army against fighters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party or the intention by Ankara to annex the lands it occupies in Northern Syria than to direct groundless accusations that do not relate to the core of media or journalism to which a clibg proudly''.
