Elham Ahmed: Turkey seeks to set new bargains

In an interview carried out by ANHA on the latest developments in the region and the latest visit by the Syria Democratic Council and the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria. Elham Ahmed head of the Executive Council of Syria's Democratic Council, the SDC, said '' in regard to the general situation in Syria, the active powers would continue its policies in the same rhythm, it is noticeable that there is an understanding in general on the latest pressure and escalation in Syria. These understandings do not mean that they would bring a solution to the problem in Syria and to exit the active powers in Syria. On the contrary, there is a probability of clashes in some areas. We now see the clashes occur in Idlib followed by some explosions in Damascus after years of discontinuation. The Turkish state carry out as you see on the region, the de-escalation comes within impeding the way to clashes. In addition, every powers seeks to complete its project. There appears no change in the position of any power in occupied areas''  

On the position of Russia towards crimes committed in occupied areas by the Turkish occupation forces and mercenary groups, Elham Ahmed said''  crimes committed in occupied areas such  as abduction and femicides and the demographic change they are all being documented and filed completely, all under an international superintendence. Occupation of Syrian territories was carried according to agreements. Afrin was occupied in line with a Turko-Russian agreement. Sere Kaniye and Gie Spi one was in compliance with a U.S. Turkish agreement. All in all, they were an international plot, all the engaged powers and active ones in the Syrian issue had prior knowledge of what had happened and the results it gave though they claim they do not. The future situation in those areas is not clear. They internationally do not verify this''. 

''For us, we generally reject all this, the situation will not proceed in this way. It will end, the situation in Syria heads towards a solution''.

Replying to a question why no independent body has yet being unable to enter occupied areas Elham Ahmed said, there is always statements made, the United Nations, U.S. and Russia can send committees to these areas easily. Russia is present there. They know what happens there. High profile Russian officials are being informed on these issues. Therefore, it I very important independent associations and bodies to go there and more specifically the human rights associations to document all these crimes''.

Elham Ahmed went on to say'' media outlets are not allowed access to such areas, even those allowed are to beautify the image of the occupation there, they say '' look who safe there areas are''.

Replying to a final question on the latest threats made by the Turkish occupation state on North and East Syria Elham said the free and intrepid community will be able to defend itself. Adding we are surrounded by enemies but our people is able to stand up to such threats. Everyone has to depend on his/her self.
