Messages of support from Colombia: Leader Ocalan's freedom is ours

 Reactions are mounting to the international conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan, after 23 years.  Voices calling for the release of leader Ocalan are rising all over the world, including Colombia.  Colombians have described the capture of Abdullah Ocalan as an "attack on humanity".  They said that the escalating struggle today for the physical freedom of leader Ocalan is a struggle for their freedom as well.

 Colombian sociologists and activists who spoke to our agency expressed their support for the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

 Colombian activist Emmanuel Rosenthal drew attention to the similarity between the ideology of the leader and the struggle of the local peoples in Colombia, and added: "The theses of the leader Ocalan about the ecosystem and the liberation of women, are very similar to the way of life of the people of this continent. Who did not witness only one revolution  from the Neolithic era, this continent has even experienced many Neolithic revolutions.The evidence that appeared in the Amazon region confirms that the local peoples have been living here continuously since 19,000 years.For this reason, the ideas of the leader Ocalan are very similar to the struggle of the peoples  local community in order to protect freedom and nature.

 'The international conspiracy is an attack against us as well'

 He continued, "First, all local peoples see themselves as daughters and sons of nature. Therefore, protecting nature means protecting these peoples. Second, local administrations, self-governments and autonomy are consistent with the democratic confederal system developed by the leader in principle. Third, freedom  It has life meanings for the people of the region, based on the foundations of transcending patriarchy, but unfortunately, not much research has been done on this region.

 We learn new things every day from leader Ocalan's struggle.  The leader who was imprisoned 23 years ago because of these values.  That is why we say that this captivity is an attack on the freedom of indigenous peoples, women and the region in general.”

 'We demand Ocalan's physical freedom'

 Rosenthal said that they demand the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and added: "The relationship between the Kurdish people and the people of this region and their historical struggle must be developed. There are many similarities between the ideas of leader Ocalan and the struggle of the people of this community."

 Pedro Chavez, the leader of the Borbicha people from the Sheeran Autonomous Region in the Mexican state of Michoacan and a member of Sheeran's second government, said they stand by the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

 'We are with Ocalan'

 In the context of his speech, Chavez said: "On behalf of the indigenous people of Mexico, we salute and send messages of support to Leader Ocalan. You should know that we are with him. We share the courage that the Kurdish people have shown for 23 years, and we also share their pain. Our struggle, our world view and our path have common goals."  "

 'Our struggle is a reflection of Ocalan's struggle'

 The Colombian sociologist, Filmo Rossio Almendra Quiguanas, also expressed his position on the severe isolation of the leader Ocalan, and stressed that he considers the extreme isolation a great insult to him.

 Almendra Quiguanas continued: "Leader Abdullah Ocalan offers us a model of life and resistance for self-management that has been going on for hundreds of years. We, as indigenous peoples, have a history spanning thousands of years and have continued resistance for hundreds of years. The capitalist system denies our existence.  Our principles too.

 Vilma stressed that the spread of the theses of the leader Abdullah Ocalan is important to them, and said in this regard: "Everyone should know that the struggle waged by the leader Ocalan, despite the circumstances of his captivity, is reflected in our struggle. The struggle to defend Ocalan and achieve his freedom is a struggle of  For our freedom too.

 Vilma sent a message of support to the leader Ocalan, and said: "As long as the leader Abdullah Ocalan remains a captive, they will hinder our struggle for freedom and for our participatory future, and our struggle for self-administration.
