Washukani women confirm resistance

Two years have lapsed after the Turkish invasion into north eastern Syria that was made open to destruction murder by mercenary groups affiliated to the Turkish occupation forces after occupation.

At least 300 thousand people were displaced of whom 100 thousand people from Gire Spi alone, according to the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.  

6031 IDPs are living in the Gire Spi IDP camp in the town of Tal Semin in northern Raqqa that was set up in November 22, 2019, while the rest were went to Raqqa, Tabqa and Kobane.

The Sere Kaniye IDPs are living in the Washukani Camp that was set up in 2019 and is home to 14714 people of 2373 families and after an increase in Sere Kaniye IDPs the Autonomous Administration set up another camp houses 14073 IDP people made up of 2815 families were living in the city of Hasaka then.

Hardships facing IDPs living in the camps did not abort the will of women that confirming resistance is on -going against the Turkish occupation forces and mercenary groups.

Rima Sheikhmous that lives in the Washukani to the west of the city of Hasaka some 13 km says '' it is two years, we are still living in the Washukani Camp after our city was occupied, are living amid harsh conditions and international humanitarian aid organizations are utterly inactive and neglect the camp. Here I work in the Women House that provides help and aid to women in the camp. All women here are facing dire conditions both in the Winter and in the Summer, every moment here amounts to an intrepid resistance'', she said hoping to return home one day.  

In the same relation, IDP Wafa' Hisein Hamid that descends from the village of Arba'in of the Sere Kaniye city indicated that her family is made up of 6 people of whom four girls recalling her past memories '' when we were at home in Sere Kaniye every girl had her own room but now we all live in one tent. This is a small part of the hardships we face here''.

Wafa' lshed out at the inaction from the part of the international humanitarian aid associations though many of which are present but they do not bear their responsibilities.

The Autonomous Administration allotted a piece of land of 600 dunams in the town of Twenah that is some 12 km to the west of the city of Hasaka to construct a camp for 2378 families.
