KNK- ROJAVA calls on PUK, KRG to hold killers of martyr "Shukri Sarhad" accountable

A member of the PKK Martyrs’ Families Council, Yasin Bulut (Shukri Sarhad), was assassinated on the 17th of last September by Turkish intelligence (MIT), in the Çarçira neighborhood in the center of Sulaymaniyah, which led to his death, without holding the perpetrator accountable so far.

This came after the Turkish occupation state shot and wounded Farhad Barish Kondo, from Bakur Kurdistan ( Kurdish region in Turkey), in Sulaymaniyah on September 16.

In this regard, a member of the Governing Body of the Kurdistan National Congress - Rojava, Marwan Hassan, told our agency: "The PKK was established to rid the Kurds of genocide and slavery and to prove the rights of the Kurds among all peoples, so its leaders and cadres are constantly targeted by Turkish intelligence, because Turkey does not accept the Kurdish uprising against its capitalist policies."

Marwan Hassan continued: "The Turkish state has intensified its intelligence movements in Başûr Kurdistan lately and targeting the militant Shukri Sarhad is not a new event, as the Turkish (MIT) seeks to target all Kurdish fighters and leaders."

Hassan explained that the problem of the Justice and Development Party is not only with the PKK; Rather, he is hostile to any Kurdish entity that seeks freedom. He added: "We do not forget that Turkey was at the forefront of countries hostile to the independence referendum in Başûr Kurdistan, so all the militant figures who have a leading role in the Kurdish cause are considered a target for Turkey."

'The targeting of a Kurdish leader in Başûr Kurdistan is unfortunate'

Hassan said that Turkey has new endeavors in Başûr Kurdistan, which is to strike the Kurdish entity in Başûr, and stated: “Every time Turkey attacks the mountains of Kurdistan, it claims that it is the last campaign that will end with the elimination of the Freedom Movement (PKK), but we see that all its campaigns always end defeated.”

A member of the governing body of the Kurdistan National Congress - Rojava, Marwan Hassan, called on the KRG's authorities and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to hold the killers of the militant Shukri Sarhad accountable, and to put an end to Turkish interference in Başûr Kurdistan in order to be able to unite opinion and the Kurdish rank, stressing that "the intelligence of the regional countries targeted the leaders Kurdishness on the land of Kurdistan is regrettable for us."

At the conclusion of his speech, Marwan Hassan pointed out that the Turkish intelligence's goals are to target Kurdish leaders in Başûr Kurdistan, and said: "Turkey seeks to create sedition between the Kurdish political parties, so we must unite the Kurdish ranks as soon as possible to protect Kurdistan national security, and if we are not able to Unifying our visions, Turkish intelligence will continue to target our leaders and launch attacks on our regions."
