HAT arrests 27 mercenaries in rural Hasakah

On Friday evening, HAT Special Forces (Counter - Terrorism Forces) captured several ISIS mercenaries who had carried out several terrorist attacks in the area and were involved in facilitating the movement of cells, to and from areas north and east of Syria.

The results of the raid, which was coordinated and supported by the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, which was published by Internal Security Forces ISF through a statement on their official website, confirming that 27 mercenaries had been arrested in the villages of Abid and Falaha, in rural Hasakah, who had carried out bombing attacks and assassinations involving civilians and military personnel. They facilitated the movement of sleeper cells, to and from areas north and east of Syria, and their activity within them.

The statement indicated that HAT Special Forces conducted several scans and surveillance prior to the operation. It added: "They were seized in possession of weapons and technical equipment, which they were using to carry out terrorist acts, targeting, planting mines, assassinating our areas, undermining the security and safety of our people, fomenting discord in our communities and spreading terror and panic in the hearts of our people."

Finally, the statement stressed the determination of the Internal Security Forces, in all their formations, to pursue the remnants of ISIS mercenaries and their cells, who are working to sow discord and panic among the people to serve their masters and supporters.
