​​​​​​​National Initiative for Afrin issues final statement of founding conference

 The initiative held its first founding meeting in the presence of the majority of the initiative's members, including activists, intellectuals, academics and media professionals from the Afrin region in the diaspora who worked to establish this initiative, in the German city of Bonn last Sunday.

 The initiative entitled the (National Initiative for Afrin) with the majority of votes and discussed its agenda and took the direct voting method as a basis for making its decisions.  The assembled logo proposed by the Preparatory Committee.

 The text of the statement stated:

 The initiative held its first founding meeting in the presence of the majority of the initiative’s members, who numbered more than eighty activists, intellectuals, academics and media people from the Afrin region in the diaspora who worked to establish this initiative in the German city of Bonn on Sunday 2282021 and adopted the name (National Initiative for Afrin) with a majority  The votes and discussed its agenda and took the direct voting method as a basis for taking its decisions. The participants approved the founding statement, taking into account the observations and suggestions made by the members, and then the internal system was discussed and its provisions and amendments were approved, as the meeting approved the logo proposed by the Preparatory Committee.

 The initiative adopted decisions and recommendations related to exposing the crimes and violations of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries against the indigenous people in "Afrin", especially the rights of women, children, nature and historical monuments, and making it an issue of public opinion, and working to present the perpetrators of war crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Afrin region to international courts. Those gathered issue support and assistance to the forcibly displaced of Afrin in their areas of presence within the framework of the available capabilities, and work to send neutral international, humanitarian and media organizations to Afrin and al-Shahba to reveal the facts and closely identify the situation.

 The meeting also stressed the coordination and unification of efforts working for the cause of Afrin and its people, and confronting the Turkish media machine and all global, regional and local platforms that consolidate the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries and beautify their image, and work to ensure the safe and dignified return of the forcibly displaced Afrin refugees based on international guarantees.

 The initiative concluded its founding meeting by electing a board of directors consisting of thirteen people who, in turn, establish and manage the diplomatic, human rights, media, cultural, activities and financial committees that will carry out their work entrusted to them to deliver the issue of Jiay Carming the occupied “Afrin” region according to the provisions of the internal system and its articles, and to develop future work plans and tasks  which the initiative will take place.
