SDF welcome US sanctions against Turkey's mercenaries

The Media Center of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement regarding the American measures to punish the "Ahrar al-Sharqiyya" faction, and the statement included:

The US Treasury recently announced a new package of sanctions targeting Syrian entities and personalities, including the Turkish-backed “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” faction, against the background of documented war crimes and grave violations committed by this faction and its inclusion of ISIS terrorist elements into its ranks which was confirmed by former international and local reports.

While welcoming these measures and considering them a first and consistent step with the calls of human rights organizations towards comprehensive accountability for all the crimes committed by this faction and its leaders against the population in north and east Syria and all other Syrian regions, including Idlib and Aleppo, we, in the Syrian Democratic Forces, call for the international community and human rights organizations to continue political and legal pressure on other similar organizations and their supporters against the background of the crimes committed, as well as we call on them to work for justice of the victims, especially in the occupied northern areas of Syria.

The black record of the "Ahrar al-Sharqiyya" faction since its founding by terrorist "Abu Maria al-Qahtani", former leader of Jabhet al-Nusra, as well as its history full of war crimes, especially in Afrin, Tel Abyad and Ras al-Ain are not secret, and despite the importance of the recent US measures against the criminal faction, we believe that the violent level of that faction's crimes urgently calls for a comprehensive and rapid international action to gather more evidence, listen to victims, and initiate legal procedures to bring the leaders and elements of that faction to international courts.".
