Politicians: AANES – PYD abduction do not serve Kurds

Rojava politicians called on the Kurdistan Regional Government to unveil the fate of AANES and PYD representatives and member abducted in Southern Kurdistan saying that these actions do not serve Kurdish people and impinges upon the Kurdish dialogue,

Jihad Hesen, representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria to Hewler, and Mustafa Khalil and Mustafa Aziz both members of Relations of the Democratic Union Party, the PYD, were abducted by authorities of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK, on 10 June 2021 at the Erbil International Airport as they were going to receive some guests. Since then nothing has been emerged on their whereabouts though Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and Democratic Union Party both called for the verification of their whereabouts and the reasons behind their arrest that run in grave contradiction to all relevant diplomatic norms and international laws.

Member of the Political Bureau in the Leftist Kurdish Party in Syria Hisein Ali says that this action do not serve the Kurdish interests, '' politician ought not to be arrested on his opinion this contravenes international laws'' adding that '' arrest made against AANES and PYD at the Erbil Airport more than a month ago is abduction not arrest''.

Ali called on the KRG to immediately verify the fate of the abductees, '' arrest made against diplomats impinges upon the intra –Kurdish dialogue'' the KRG ought to release these diplomats and work for the welfare of the Kurdish people''.

In turn, member of the Political Body of the Kurdistani Democratic Peace Party Mislim Abbas said '' we in the party have always been against political arrests on expressing opinions. The KRG arrested PYD's representatives and that of the AANES in Hewler without giving verifying their fates''.

Abbas made clear that at a time when the Kurdish people awaits a Kurdish unity and declaring Kurdistan free the KRG arrested these diplomats that were working for th benefits of the Kurdish people''.

Abbas held accountable the KRG for the whereabouts of abductees calling for releasing a statement to give reasons behind their arrest and the place they are held at.
