Nihad Kaya: Agreements into effect to eradicate the Kurds

The journalist, Nihad Kaya, pointed out that Turkey's attacks on Southern Kurdistan are a continuation of the agreements concluded in 2017, and considered them a series of events related to what is planned in Iraq, Syria and the Middle East, calling on the Kurdistan Democratic Party to reverse its positions in order to avoid committing a new genocide against the Kurds.

This came during an interview conducted by ANHA agency with the journalist, Nihad Kaya, regarding the continuous attacks of the Turkish occupation on the Kurds, and its recent attacks on Southern Kurdistan on the 23rd of last April, and the complicity of the Kurdistan Democratic Party with these attacks, as it moved its forces to the zones of the People's Defense Forces HPG, which It led to the besieging of Guerilla Forces between the attacks of the Turkish occupier and the points of the PDK military forces.

Journalist, Nihad Kaya, says that Turkey's continuous attacks on Southern Kurdistan, the latest of which was the April 23^rd attacks on legitimate defense areas, is not a new beginning, but rather a continuation of the agreements concluded in 2017 (the Turkish operation on Khakork), which he considered a new conspiracy by Turkey against the Kurds.

Kaya highlighted Turkey's plans in Iraq, Syria and the Middle East, and its connection to its attacks on Southern Kurdistan, and said: "Under the pretext of the so-called 'Buffer Zone', Turkey seeks to achieve its goal in Syria, under the pretext of the presence of the Democratic Union Party and the People's Protection Units that Turkey claims are linked to the Kurdistan Worker's Party, the PKK, and its plans legitimize the use of mercenary groups under the name of the "Syrian Opposition Coalition", since in this way it legitimizes its occupation of Afrin and Idlib all the way to Serêkaniyê/ Ras Al-Ain and Girê Spî/ Tal-Abyed.

As for Turkey’s plans in the Middle East and its connection to the attacks on Southern Kurdistan, Kaya stated: “There are new schemes being hatched in the Middle East, and the recent attacks on Southern Kurdistan are part of these schemes. With the arrival of Joe Biden to power, changes in balances regarding the policy of the world, and this change generally affected the region, as Turkey’s policies changed with it as well, as the latter changed its policies towards Russia and turned its back towards America by playing a policy of deception.

He went on to say: "After America's entry into north and east Syria in 2014 and its support for the Syrian Democratic Forces, Turkey began to play a policy of deception with America, as Turkey decided to purchase the Russian-made "S-400" missile system, directing this decision as a threatening message to America to approach, from Russia, followed by a reaction from the European Union and America."

European Union and America approved a package of punitive measures against Turkey on December 10^th, 2020, due to its "illegal and aggressive" behavior in the Mediterranean, and those sanctions were imposing sanctions on personalities and companies responsible for drilling and exploration operations in the eastern Mediterranean region, in addition to a travel ban to the European Union and an asset freeze.

Nahad Kaya noted that Turkey had to change its policy following the reaction of the European Union and America. "Turkey's attempt to approach Russia has not worked. On the contrary, it has negatively affected its policy, but Turkey is fortunate to have achieved a military role in NATO, resulting in silence and regardless of Turkey's decision to buy." The S-400, "and now both America and Turkey are trying to block their differences."

Kaya stressed that the agreement between America and the Kurds in Kobani distanced Turkey from NATO, and said: "Now Turkey demands America to refrain from supporting the Syrian Democratic Forces, which Turkey claims to be only Kurdish forces, but all the meetings held between the two parties have not been announced, this which indicates that America is turning a blind eye to Turkey's demand."
