​​​​​​​Afghan expert: Turkish forces are occupying for Afghans

Earlier, the Taliban Movement warned Turkey against keeping its forces in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of international forces led by the United States, stressing that such a decision was "reprehensible."

In a statement, the movement declared, "The Turkish leaders' decision is not wise, it is a violation of our sovereignty, our territorial unity and integrity, and it is contrary to our national interests."

The statement came days after Turkey announced that its forces would "guarantee the security of Kabul Airport", after the foreign forces withdrawal scheduled for the end of August.

In this context, the Afghan expert on political affairs, Ruhollah Omar, said that the Turkish forces are occupying forces and will remain so.

Omar added in an exclusive statement to ANHA, "There is no doubt that there are historical and fraternal relations with Turkey. We are linked by one belief, one doctrine and a common history. The Afghan people and the Turkish people both love jihad and freedom, but now Turkey entered Afghanistan with the American forces even in one plane, and therefore the Afghan people do not see the difference between Turkish forces and American forces in Afghanistan because both forces entered under the cover of NATO and destroyed our country, killed our people and bombarded us.

The Afghan expert in political affairs continued, "We demand Turkish people and Turkish government to get out of the occupation framework. No one denies that all the countries that were participating under the cover of NATO, we treat them as occupying countries and armies. If we need Turkey, perhaps after the approval of Parliament and Afghans, we will ask for it, but if Turkey continues to demand from America and the West, everyone objects to it."

Omar stressed that "there is no danger to Turkey from Afghanistan, and there is no danger on the Turkish borders or the countries allied with it. Turkey should be a reconciling country among Afghans, not be part of the 40-year conflict."

The Taliban had announced a few days ago that it controls 85% of Afghanistan's territory, including strategic border crossings, while the Afghan authorities announced their readiness to launch a battle to restore those areas.
