On 9th anniversary of July 19 revolution, YPG renew the pledge to liberate occupied cities

The General Command of the units confirmed in a statement issued today that it will crown the "dreams and goals of our heroic martyrs for a free and democratic homeland."

 The statement began with, "The July 19 revolution, on its ninth anniversary, which was founded on the principles of democracy, environmental protection and women's freedom, is progressing step by step to become a hope for all peoples yearning for freedom in the world. Despite all the reactionary attacks and occupation, the peoples of the region united around their revolution, as day after day, this revolution has become, on the foundations of the democratic nation, an alternative to solving all the crises of the Middle East.

Revolution was watered with the blood of martyrs who preserved its gains with their blood

The statement added, " July 19 revolution has struggled from its inception to this day against the reactionary nature of both ISIS and the Turkish occupation, and it has also shown a historical resistance against them. Like all revolutions that require great sacrifices, the revolution was watered with the blood of the heroic martyrs who preserved their gains with their blood. Our revolution still faces attacks today from all reactionary parties, and although the terrorist organization ISIS has ended geographically, through its terrorist activities it is trying to destabilize the region, as well as its ally, the Turkish occupation state, continues its occupational attacks in order to avenge it; under these difficult circumstances and conditions, the peoples of the region did not concede about their freedom and democracy, and despite the great sacrifices, they are still protecting their revolution.

Renewing the covenant to liberate the occupied cities from the clutches of the Turkish occupation

On the occasion of the anniversary of the July 19 revolution, the People's Protection Units renewed "the covenant to protect our people and our revolution, and we affirm that we will crown the dreams and goals of our heroic martyrs with a free and democratic homeland, and we also renew the pledge to liberate the occupied cities (Afrin, Tel Abyad, Serê Kaniyê) from the clutches of the Turkish occupation."

The statement conclude with: "On the occasion of this historic day, which coincides with the anniversary of the founding of our units, we congratulate leader Abo, our people, and all our righteous martyrs on the revolution of Rojava and northeastern Syria."
