Sources: Turkey 32 million cubic meters from Maidanki Dam in occupied Afrin

This morning, the waters of the Maidanki dam, belonging to Shera district, flowed into the streets of the occupied city center of Afrin, due to the Turkish occupation opening the gates of the dam, after Turkey stole about 32 million cubic meters of lake water and passed it to lake of Reyhanli Dam inside Turkish territory.

Local sources from the center of the occupied city of Afrin reported that the main streets in the city of Afrin were flooded with water from the Maidanki Dam, in conjunction with the scarcity of drinking water in the city.

According to the sources, on the 3rd of this month, the Turkish occupation opened the drainage gates of the Maidanki Dam, by 20 cm, so that the waters of the Maidanki Dam lake would flow into Turkish territory to fill the Reyhanli Dam in the Turkish state of Hatay, through channels established by the occupation authorities earlier.

The sources indicated that the occupation stole about 32 million cubic meters of water from the Maidanki Dam lake. The dam's gates opened, water flowed largely towards the main streets in the occupied city of Afrin, amid the lack of potable water in the city.
