Derar considers Astana 16 statement incitement against region

The Astana trio of Russia, Turkey and Iran organized their 16^th meeting on July 8, and the final statement did not differ in its hostile language against the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, as the trio claimed their firm commitment to the sovereignty of Syria, at a time when these countries, on top of them Turkey has violated the Syrian sovereignty for years.

In their final statement, Astana trio renewed their hostility against the people of north and east Syria and the Autonomous Administration, accusing the Autonomous Administration of division intentions.

Turkey is occupying approximately 12 percent of the total area of Syria, and Russia has signed agreements with the Syrian state with wide powers and a time-bound of nearly half a century, in what resembles a guardianship over the war-torn country and the interventions of external powers.

  In a statement by Co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council, Riad Derar, to Hawar news agency, he confirmed that the final statement issued by the Astana meeting repeats the previous statements issued by these meetings, which incite against the areas of north and east Syria, and he did not rule out a new escalation in the region saying, "In my personal opinion, an escalation will happen as a result."

Derar pointed to the harmony of the practices of the so-called Syrian coalition and the Astana trio, "It is very clear that the coalition representatives are in agreement with the policy drawn by Astana, and they are the cards that are being played with to stir up strife and problems in the region."

Derar stressed that the Astana trio (guarantor) is drawing long-term plans in the absence of American and European action and actor, and said, "There are many problems that will occur and we have to steadfast."
