Families of martyrs in Kobanê recall 258 martyrs of June martyrs

Today, the Council of Martyrs' Families in the Euphrates region recalled the 258 martyrs of the month of June, by lighting candles on their tombs in the shrine of the martyr Dijla, south of the city of Kobani.

Hundreds of residents of Kobanê canton attended the remembrance ceremony with candles, which was held by the Martyrs' Families Council in the Euphrates region, to commemorate 258 martyrs of the month of June in the shrine of the martyr Dijla south of the city.

The memorial ceremony began with a minute of silence, after which the co-chair of the Council of Martyrs’ Families in Kobanê Aisha Effendi gave a speech in which she glorified the martyrs, and said: “In the person of Deniz and Zilan we salute the martyrs of the month of June, because for the sake of freedom and democracy they sacrificed their lives, and they did not wait for anyone and stood in the face of the enemies of humanity.”

Aisha Effendi added: "These martyrs who lie here in the shrine of the martyr Dijla, stood in front of the tanks, did not take a step back, and defended this pure land with all valor."

Aisha ended her speech: "The Turkish occupation state is trying today to undermine us, so it requires us to have a rebellious spirit and to stand united in the face of Turkish ambitions."

After finishing the speeches, the participants in the ceremonies went to the tombs of the martyrs and lit candles on them.
