Huge amount of narcotic substances destroyed, 1875 drug users, promoters and dealers arrested

 Today, the Asayiş of NES held a press conference in the old Swaqa school in the city of Qamishlo, with the participation of representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) in conjunction with the International Day for Combating Drugs.

Member of the Social Justice Council in NES, Attia Al-Nama thanked the internal security forces and security services, "and all relevant institutions for their tremendous efforts in combating the dangerous scourge in society."

Attia Al-Nama pointed out that after the failure of the regional countries, in particular Turkey, to strike the AANES project, it resorted to using other methods to fight the peoples of the region, using the narcotics as one of the means of special war, targeting the young group that is the mainstay of society, to destabilize the region.

For his part, the co-chair of the Interior Authority in North and East Syria, Ali Hajjo, said that narcotics are a global issue that some countries have managed to limit it, but that "this phenomenon is still a deadly poison in societies."

Hajjo added: "Our message is that of the brotherhood to the international community and the world at large, a message of security and peace, and an affirmation of our continuity in confronting many enemies who seek to destroy our regions through many means," stressing that they were able to defeat injustice and terrorism through their steadfastness and resistance to their people and the blood of martyrs.

This was followed by a reading of a statement by the spokesperson for the General Command of the Asayiş, Ali Al-Hassan.

The text of the statement stated:

Our regions experienced all kinds of wars of all kinds, which targeted all components and our customs, and our culture and our virtues.

One of these wars is drug war, which go beyond the terrorism. Drugs are the most important sources of funding terrorist groups on the one hand, and it is one of the most important reasons for striking and dismantling the segments of society.

We stand before you now on the International Day against Drugs and several months after our forces in the fight against organized crime launched the campaign “Life is a Responsibility against Drugs,” which we launched on 9/25/2020 to preserve our moral heritage for our societies from all forms of crime and extremism, affirming our full commitment of all ethical and humanitarian controls, which are considered one of the most important pillars of international treaties and agreements that deal with humanity in its moral essence.

Calling on all local, regional and international organizations to carry out their responsibilities and cooperate in protecting the humanitarian community, whose members have become victims of this dangerous scourge, and work hand in hand to preserve security and human rights and dignity.

Today, on June 26, we announce the end of the campaign “Life is a Responsibility against Drugs,” through which our forces were able to seize large narcotic substances, which were as follows:

840605 narcotic pills

626 anesthetic needles

1700 kg of hashish

2637 g of cannabis paste

3495 grams of cannabis seed

3888 cannabis seedlings

1189 hashish

34,000 grams of cannabis

199 cigarettes stuffed with cannabis

24618 grams of narcotic substances of various kinds, including 8,440 grams, 16 doses of H-boss, 1011 grams, and 18 sachets of heroin.

We also note that our forces destroyed 1,665,000 grams of hashish on 6/9/2020 in coordination with the Public Prosecution in Raqqa Province.

Our forces were stopped during their fight against the scourge of drugs

230 merchants

The gigantic efforts made by our forces in protecting the human community from the danger of this scourge, are nothing but a continuation of the efforts we have made to break terrorism and stand an impenetrable shield against its arrival to the countries of the whole world

These efforts would not have yielded all these results had it not been for the security and moral responsibility of our people to join efforts and achieve a safe society free from all forms of crime.

The best that can be offered to the homeland is sincerity, duty, and keenness not to be touched by the hand of enemies and the weak of souls. The homeland is love, and love is knowledge, and knowledge is determination.

The press conference ended with the destruction and burning of narcotics by the Internal Security Forces.
