Hassan: Hariri's statements serve Turkey's policies in restoring defuncted Ottoman Empire

Member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) Muhammad Hassan, believes that the statements of the so-called head of the Syrian Opposition Coalition, Nasr al-Hariri, calling for the Turkish occupation to occupy new areas in Syria, are in the interest of the Turkish state in restoring the glories of the defunct Ottoman Empire.

The head of the Syrian opposition coalition, the so-called "Nasr al-Hariri", called on Turkey to seize over new areas in northeast Syria, in a press conference held in Istanbul, Turkey, on the 14th of this month.

Hariri had called on the Turkish occupation state to occupy the city of Manbij and the Tel Rifaat district of al-Shahba canton, to expand the area of Syrian lands occupied by Turkey, and implement the Turkish agenda in the region.

More than 16 thousand displaced Afrins in Tel Rifaat

The demands of the Syrian coalition for a new Turkish military intervention in the Syrian territories provoked angry and reactions in the popular circles.

It is noteworthy that Tal Rifaat district in al-Shahba canton is home to more than 16 thousand Afrini displaced by the Turkish occupation army and its terrorist mercenaries, in addition to more than 6000 original residents of Tell Rifaat.

Commenting on the statements of the head of the Syrian opposition coalition, Nasr Hariri, about the Turkish military intervention in Syria, a member of the Presidential Council in the Syrian Democratic Council, Muhammad Ali Hassan, spoke to ANHA agency, explaining at the beginning of his speech that at a time when attention is turning to reach political understandings that end the conflict in Syria, And the state of mass destruction that afflicted the country, Hariri went out to call on Turkey to occupy more Syrian lands.

In his speech, Hassan pointed out that the Turkish occupation state continues to deepen the wounds of the Syrians, Turkification of regions, and bring about demographic change processes, at all levels, noting that Turkey is exploiting the weakness of the Syrian opposition, to later become an agenda and a card in the hands of the occupying state and harness it for its interests.

"Hariri's statements increase the suffering of the Syrians"

Hassan stressed that Hariri's statement increases the suffering of the Syrians and causes instability in the Syrian regions, explaining that "it serves the agenda of the Turkish occupation and increases tension in the region."

Hassan added, "When Turkey reaches a point where it can harness the opposition to serve its agenda and create fighting among the people, it will give way for the Turkish occupation state to occupy large parts of the Syrian lands, and even Iraqi lands as well."

"A new Turkish model to restore the glories of the defunct Ottoman Empire"

Hassan continued his speech: "Turkey's occupation of parts of the Syrian and Iraqi lands is a new (Ottoman) model, behind which the Turkish state seeks to restore the glories of the defunct Ottoman Empire in light of the recent changes on the Syrian and Middle Eastern arena."

During his speech, Hassan called on "the honorable people in the Syrian opposition to be aware of the danger of the Turkish occupation."

A member of the Presidential Council of the Syrian Democratic Council also sees dialogue as an urgent necessity among Syrians to end the crisis and put the international community in front of narrow options with the return of the Syrian file to the international dialogue table.

Hassan explained his speech, saying: "We, in the Syrian Democratic Council, have an open space for dialogue and we can accept opinions and discuss all files, with the aim of preserving the unity of Syria."

If Hariri believes that occupying Syrian territory will restore the prestige of the coalition, then he is delusional

Hassan believes that Nasr Al-Hariri's call for Turkey to occupy new areas in Syria is to return the crisis to square zero, and said: "Basically, the crimes and violations witnessed by the occupied areas by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation in the areas of Afrin, Serê Kaniyê, Girê Spi / Tal Abyad and others, From killings, kidnappings, the seizure of civilian property and Turkey's help in changing the identity of the region, the Syrian people lost their confidence in those factions, and the people became aware of the reality of these mercenaries."

A member of the Presidential Council in the Syrian Democratic Council, Muhammad Hassan, concluded his speech by emphasizing that if Nasr al-Hariri hoped that the occupation of areas in Syria would restore the prestige of the coalition.

It is worth noting that for more than three years, Tal Rifaat district, in al-Shahba canton, has been subjected to missile and artillery bombardment by the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries. The occupation committed a massacre against the original residents of Afrin, which resulted in the death of 10 citizens, including 8 children under 15, in 2019.
