On June 10, the Kurdistan Democratic Party kidnapped the representative of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in Hewlêr, Jihad Hassan, and two members of the Democratic Union Party’s relations, Mustafa Khalil and Mustafa Aziz, while they were on their way to Erbil International Airport to receive guests, and their fate is still unknown.

The representative of the AANES AND pyd in Başûr Kurdistan, expressed their concern about the fate of their kidnapped representatives, and called on the and PDK and KRG's authorities to reveal their fate. In turn, the political and social circles stressed that this kidnapping is contrary to political and diplomatic norms.

The co-chair of the Legislative Council in the Jazira region, Hikmat Habib, confirmed that the authorities of Başûr have not yet clarified the reasons for the kidnapping of their representatives in Başûr, and that their fate is still unknown. He said, "We see that this policy is an attempt to create strife among the Kurdish people, and to strike the AANES project in northeast Syria."

We must intervene to reveal the fate of the kidnapped

Habib condemned the kidnapping and demanded that the authorities of Başûr Kurdistan reveal the fate of the kidnappers who were working openly as representatives of the Autonomous Administration and the Democratic Union Party in Başûr Kurdistan, and appealed to international organizations to interven.

Habib stressed the need for the KRG and PDK moves to be in the interests of the Kurdish people, neighboring countries, and the components of the region, and be far from the agendas of the Turkish occupation state."

Habib stressed that their project in northeast Syria is a democratic and militant project for peace, and they follow the policy of good neighborliness with the countries of the region.

He also stressed that this action violates international norms and laws, and said: "If our representatives had exhibited certain behaviors, it was possible to inform them to leave the region."

Regarding the silence of international and human rights organizations, the Human Rights Organization and Amnesty International regarding the kidnapping of representatives of the Autonomous Administration and the Democratic Union Party, Habib explained that there is "double standards, and they are in line with international interests and the policies of countries that seek to normalize their interests at the expense of the interests of the people in the Middle East and the world."

Habib called on international organizations, particularly the Human Rights Organization and Amnesty International, to be at the same distance from all peoples.
