Iraqi governmental and security delegation meets Mexmûr Camp's people

An Iraqi governmental and security delegation met with the people of Martyr Restum Judi (Mexmûr) Camp to see the conditions of the camp, while the people called on the Iraqi government to fulfill its responsibilities.

A delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Immigration and Refugees and Iraqi security officials visited Martyr Restum Judi Refugee Camp (Mexmûr) to look into the camp's problems, the Turkish state's attacks and targeting of refugee civilians in the camp.

An Iraqi delegation consisting of officials in the security services and administrators of the Ministry of Migration and Refugees met with the administration of Mexmûr camp at the United Nations building.

The delegation members stated that their visit aims to investigate the attacks being launched on the camp, consider the problems and difficulties experienced by the displaced in the camp, and find ways to solve them.

The camp delegation explained the current situation in the camp, the tragedies of its displaced residents, the Turkish state's oppression, and the reason for displacement and attacks on the camp, and it presented the displaced demands to the Iraqi delegation. The Mexmûr delegation also pointed out that the United States and the Iraqi government did not fulfill their duties in accordance with the law, and did not protect the refugees' rights, calling for the fulfillment of their responsibilities.

In turn, the members of the Baghdad delegation said that they had received the demands of the camp's people and would share them with the relevant parties. They also pledged that they would focus on solving problems, preventing the recurrence of attacks on the camp, and that they would discuss the issue of reopening the United Nations office in the camp, taking the necessary security measures and humanitarian assistance.

After the meeting, the Baghdad delegation visited several families in the camp and listened to their suffering, as well as the site of the recent attack carried out by the occupying Turkish state on the camp.

The members of the Iraqi delegation pledged to continue their visits and try to provide the necessary assistance to the camp.
