Kalo: Yazidi execution sentence aims at sedition

Iraqi Criminal Court passed on April 21^st, an execution sentence on four Yazidis accused of killing two youths from the Shammar on the road between Tal Izer and Shengal on September 16^th, 2020. The decision met a wide range discontent and dissatisfaction in the Yazidi community viewing the sentence as a continuation to former firmans against the Yazidi community the last of which was in 2914. 

Adnan Kalo member to the Yazidi House considers that the sentence is a cover that has hidden implications, ''the sentence targets all patriotic figures and effective activists and politicians in the Yazidi community that stood up to repression and tyranny against Yazidis''.

The Iraqi Government did not set up courts for those aiders to the August 3^rd, 2014 firman that abducted, displaced and enslaved thousands of women, men and children of Yazidis''. 

Kalo noted that the sentence passed is a politically motivated one and not legally concerned, '' the Iraqi government via this tries to warn Yazidi community not to perform any resistance or fight in defence of their administration, all to renounce their culture, religion and the administration set up to erase Yazidism''.  

Kalo said that after the 2014 firman the Iraqi government adopts the special war strategy in bids to stir up sedition and discord between Arabs and Yazidis living together citing tribes' support specifically Shammar to the Yazidis in repelling to ISIS savagery in 2014.

Kalo concluded by saying that nation states from the dawn of history are obsessed by the unity of peoples and complementarity, calling on Arabs and Yazidis to be vigilant to the propaganda adopted that aims to strike at Yazidis.
