Mohamed Tarboush, General Directorate of Dams in Northern and Eastern Syria, told the Agency that yesterday Saturday the water intake of the Euphrates River flowing into Syrian territory was 185 cubic meters per second, in another catastrophic decline of Euphrates.

For more than three and a half months, the Turkish Occupying State has been reducing large quantities of the waters of the Euphrates River from Syrians.

Syria's share of the incoming is 500 cubic metres per second, of which Iraq receives 60 percent, according to the tripartite agreements between Turkey, Syria and Iraq in 1987

The decline in the river level within Syrian territory has resulted in reduced electricity generation hours from dams, widespread damage to agriculture, the beginning of pollution of river water and significant damage to fish resources.

With this new ratio, the waters of the Euphrates River are subject to further decline, so the region could face a real disaster as Turkey continues to block water.
