Festivity in Aleppo on occasion of Kurdish Language Day

Hundreds of students, their families, members of civil institutions and political parties in the neighborhood participated in the celebration in the eastern section of the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city.

The celebration began with a minute of silence, followed by the words of Fatima Kushan, the co-chair of the Training Committee for Democratic Society, in Kurdish, and in Arabic, a member of the Star Roshin Suleiman Conference.

The words indicated that the Kurdish language had been subjected to many attacks by the occupation forces and fascist regimes that divided Kurdistan in their endeavor to obliterate the identity of the Kurdish people.

The words emphasized the need to continue the struggle at the level of strengthening the Kurdish language and insist on moving forward in order to develop the Kurdish language and literature despite all forms of oppression, injustice and racist practices.

The celebration included singing performances by the Future Flower Group for Children and the Martyr Fajin Ensemble of the Jamil Horo Center for Culture and Art.

Some of the teachers in the Training Committee for the Democratic Society read poems that focused on the importance of the Kurdish language for the Kurdish people.

The celebration ended with the holding of Dabkeh episodes with the impact of revolutionary songs.
