Al-Jazeera clans' notables in response to National Defense practice, seek to destabilize the region

Sheiks and clans' notables in Al-Jazeera region pointed out that the Government of Damascus's so-called National Defense mercenaries are seeking to strike the security and stability of the region, calling upon the Internal Security Forces and the institutions of Autonomous Administration to maintain peaceful coexistence and brotherhood of peoples and to counter the practices of National Defense mercenaries.

On Sunday, Sheikhs, clans' notables in the Al-Jazeera region issued a statement to the world’s opinion, regarding the tensions caused by the National Defense mercenaries of the Damascus Government in the city of Qamishlo.

Dozens of notables and sheikhs of the Kurdish and Arab tribes of Al-Jazeera region participated in the statement, which was delivered by the notable of Al-Tufaihiyin clan, Mansour Al-Karaf, in front of Relation Tent of clans' notables in the city of Qamishlo.

The statement began: "We are the Sheikhs, clans' notables of Al-Jazeera region by following up on events in the city of Qamishlo (Tayy neighborhood) and in the face of the practices and abuses of the National Defense Militia from the drug trade, the imposition of royalties and extortion of the people of the neighborhood, most recently by attacking the barriers of the Internal Security Forces."

The statement explained that: "These are foreign agendas and directives, the fact that this militia is directly affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, asserting that the National Defense Militia is seeking to strike a state of security and stability in the region, and to assassinate the Sheikhs and clans' notables, most recently Sheikh Hayes Al-Jaryan."

The statement called on the Internal Security Forces to maintain peaceful coexistence and counter mercenary attacks: "From here, in the face of our moral responsibilities, we, are Al-Jazeera notables , call upon the Internal Security Forces and the institutions of AANES to maintain peaceful coexistence and fraternity, to counter the practices of this militia, to impose security and stability in Tayy neighborhood, to return civilians to their homes and to strike strongly to anyone who supports the projects of sedition in the region."

The mercenaries of the so-called National Defense launched an attack, on the evening of April 20^th, at a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces in Al-Wehda roundabout, killing a member of the Internal Security Forces, Khaled Melhem Othman.
