The displaced: Orgs do not undertake their responsibility

The suffering of the displaced in the shelters is exacerbating, with the increasing number of cases of Coronavirus in North and East Syria regions, despite the curfew the Autonomous Administration has imposed on April 6.

Musab bin Omair School is one of the schools in Tal Tamr district that has been turned into a shelter for the displaced, who fled the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries' attacks on their villages at the end of 2019.

The displaced lack the necessities for their daily life, most notably health and medical ones, in light of the fast spread of the Corona virus in the region.

They don't care about us

In the school, which houses more than 40 families, one of the displaced women from the village of Areesha, Noura Al-Hizam, said, "The organizations do not pay any attention to the schools where the displaced are present, but rather focus on the camps, and they do not provide us with any assistance."

They only take photos

She added, "The organizations come to the school talking about hygiene and how to prevent diseases and take photos, but in reality there is no aid, what they do in the school is for their personal interests."

She pointed out: "The organizations put up banners on the walls urging prevention of Corona virus spread and ways to prevent it, but they forget until they provide detergents and sterilizers, they make us speak in their favor without returning to lend a helping hand."

Only banners

For her part, Maryam Sheikh Saleh spoke, saying: "With the spread of the virus in the region, we, the displaced families within this school, do not have detergents or sterilizers to protect ourselves from the virus."

She added, "There is no care either by doctors nor by organizations, only banners are hung in the school that read," Your life is our responsibility, "but they are false statements. If our lives mattered to them, they would have provided health supplies at least."
