11 female activists arrested in Amed

11 female activist have been arrested by the Turkish Police in the city of Amed in Northern Kurdistan in the framework of the political extermination campaign undertaken against Kurdish politicians and activists.

After 26 feminist activists were arrested on April 6^th, Turkish authorities are increasing pressure against the Kurdish associations and activists.

Of these arrested TJA's Zelal Bilgin, and ,member to the Amed Municipal Council Buhar Karakash Ulogh and Rabi Tekas.  

The arrested are: co-chair of the Cenar Council Nejla Tamerish, co-chair of the DBP in Amed Sefal Gulmaz, member to the Women Academy in Amed Fixan Aras, member to the Cenrral CVommittee of the SKM Se'diya Ok, Laila Akgol, Ayshen Kanush, Nurshin Iqbal and Shehriban Zorgurli.  

Nezhat Teke was put under house arrest as 14 activists were freed of whom Jinnews correspondent Beritan Januzer on bail.

Worth to note that on March 20th, Turkey withdrew from the Istanbul Convention of the  Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence, better known as the Istanbul Convention.
