Israel's Channel 13 said, this afternoon, that the president has authorized Netanyahu to form the government.

According to Israeli reports, the last consultations session between the Israeli president and representatives of the Israeli parties ended with the recommendation of 52 Knesset members to Netanyahu, in exchange for the recommendation of 45 members for the leader of the Yesh Atid party, Yair Lapid, while the decisive percentage is 61 seats / members in the Knesset, which entitles any of the parties to form the government.

Netanyahu has 28 days to form, and 14 additional days if he is allowed, otherwise, it will be assigned to another.

According to the channel itself, if the candidate fails to form a government, Rivlin will have two options: either granting the mandate to another candidate and allowing him to try for a period of 28 days, which cannot be extended, or returning the mandate to the Knesset.

In the event that the mandate is transferred to the Knesset, members of the Knesset will have 3 weeks to agree, by a majority of 61 members, to appoint a candidate from among them, and this candidate will have a two-week opportunity to form a government.

If the Knesset fails to nominate a Knesset member to form a government within the three-week period, new elections will be held, which will be the fifth in less than two years.
