Is Russia alongside Turkey or Syrian people?

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, the Russian state has played a major role in the Syrian file, as it was the first supporter until the moment for the Damascus government, but its policy in the recent period has focused in the interest of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries, and here the question arises: Alongside whom Russia stands, Turkey or the Syrian people?

Russia has always been the main supporter of the Damascus government, but it has allowed the occupation of some Syrian areas by the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries.

Russia could not stop Turkey's attacks!

Russia still plays its role in the Syrian file, especially after the Sochi agreement was concluded for the ceasefire in north and east Syria, as it began to play the guarantor role in the region, but it did not abide by its duties towards the people of the region, and it was unable to stop Turkey's continuous attacks on the region.

Turkey and Russia reached an agreement on October 22, 2019, which stipulated 10 items, including the withdrawal of the Syrian Democratic Forces to beyond the Syrian-Turkish border by a distance of at least 30 km and a ceasefire, in addition to the conduct of joint Turkish-Russian patrols at a depth of 10 km in the border areas with Turkey, and the Syrian government deployment of its soldiers on the border.

The Turkish occupation state occupied Afrin canton on March 18, 2018, after launching an offensive that faced a resistance lasted for 58 days, and before that it had occupied the areas of Azaz, Jarablus and al-Bab in the summer of 2016.

On October 9, 2019, Turkey occupied the areas of Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî to commit the most heinous crimes against humanity amid international silence.

After its occupation of many Syrian areas, and obtaining the green light, it seeks to occupy more Syrian lands in northern Syria.

Russia has given the green light to commit massacres in the region

Amid popular and political anger at the failure of both Turkey and Russia to the agreement concluded by the two countries to cease fire in the region, the Turkish occupation continues to launch attacks from time to time on the region with the aim of occupying it.

In this context, the Deputy Co-presidency of the Executive Council in the Euphrates region, Nihad Ahmed, affirms that the Russian state has not committed to its duties as a guarantor to stop the Turkish attacks on the region, and Turkey is still committing massacres against civilians, including women and children, such as the Helenj massacre, which left three women victims.

In addition to the ground attacks and the almost daily shelling of some areas in north and east Syria, such as Ain Issa, Manbij and Dêrik, the Turkish reconnaissance planes launch attacks on the area from time to time, as a Turkish reconnaissance plane bombed a civilian home on January 22, which resulted in wounding a civilian, and a Turkish drone had previously committed a massacre in the village of Helenj on June 23 of last year.

Russia is playing the role of a blackmailer in the region

Nihad Ahmed indicates that Russia is playing the role of blackmailer in the region to put pressure on the Autonomous Administration through Turkish threats to invade the region, and hand over some areas to the Syrian government, such as Ain Issa, on which attacks are continuing on a daily basis.

Nihad stresses that Russia, as a guarantor, must play a fundamental role in the Syrian file, abide by its duties and carry out them to pressure Turkey to stop launching attacks on the region, in addition to working to solve the Syrian crisis which will be the beginning of a peaceful solution to the problems of north and east Syria.

To this, political observers indicate that Russia gives the green light to the Turkish occupation state to launch attacks on northern Syria in general, and those with a Kurdish majority in particular, occupying them to achieve its interests in the region.
