Qamishlo people: We demand leader Ocalan's freedom 

While the Turkish occupation authorities has been continuing to detain the leader Abdullah Ocalan and tighten isolation on Imrali prison since 22 years, political detainees in the Turkish state's prisons have announced a hunger strike, calling to end the isolation and free the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

A number of Qamishlo residents called on the international community to hold its responsibilities to ensure the lifting of isolation and the achievement of the leader Abdullah Ocalan's freedom.

The citizen Mohammed Ali, from the Western neighborhood in Qamishlo city, said: "The Kurdish people will continue their struggle and will be present in the squares as long as the leader Abdullah Ocalan is held in prison." He also said: "The isolation imposed on the leader is contrary to rights and laws. The leader Ocalan continues resistanting despite the isolation imposed on him since 22 years in Imrali prison, and without achieving physical freedom for him, freedom cannot be achieved, whether for the Kurdish people or for the whole world.

 The leader Abdullah Ocalan is not only considered a leader of the Kurdish people, but he is the leader of peoples, and his isolation must be lifted as soon as possible."

The international community must break its silence

Mohammed Ali pointed to the need for the Kurdish people to unite their voice against the isolation imposed on Imrali prison, adding: "The Kurdish people, wherever they are found, must confront this isolation, and they should not remain idly by until the isolation is lifted. I no longer trust international human rights organizations. As long as they remain silent about all these human rights violations, they will not be able to do anything in the field of human rights. There is global silence about the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, as well as about the escalating repression in prisons."

They are trying to isolate the leader and keep him alone

Nizam Nuri Khalil rejected the strict isolation imposed by the Turkish authorities on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and said in this regard: "The peoples are calling for the freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan. In all parts of the world we have witnessed the organization of campaigns demanding the freedom of the leader. The conspirating forces tried to undermine the Kurdish state's will through the international plot. The existing Turkish state that follows the mentality of the Ottoman state, as well as the countries that support it, does not want to release the leader Abdullah Ocalan. They seek to isolate the leader between the walls of Imrali prison. We will never abandon the leader and his philosophy, and we will resist for the sake of the leader's ideas and philosophy."

Nuri Khalil also pointed to the escalating resistance in Turkish prisons and demands for the freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, and said: "The Kurdish people must support and rally around their resistance. We will be able to break the isolation by escalating the resistance. The international community must meet the detainees' demands."

The leader must be allowed to meet with his lawyer and family immediately

In turn, Amina Amin said that there is a link between the massacres committed by Erdogan and the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and she also said: "The leader Abdullah Ocalan is still being held in that prison, and he is strictly isolated. We demand that the leader be allowed to meet with his lawyer and his family as soon as possible. Everyone must support the hunger strike campaigns in Turkish prisons. We will continue and escalate the resistance and struggle in all squares and fields in order to achieve the physical freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, and we will not be free as long as the freedom of the leader is not achieved."
