During the dialogue forum "Kurdish-Kurdish Differences, Facts and Solutions", organized by the Rojava Center for Strategic Studies (NRLS), in the city of Qamishlo in northern and eastern Syria, on Saturday, in the presence of a group of Kurdish politicians, intellectuals, jurists, and civil society institutions, to shed light on these differences, and study the present of Kurds and Kurdistan, and reach a national Kurdish vision through discussions.

ENKS positions weaken the Kurdish talks

The Secretary-General of the Kurdish-Syrian Democratic Left Party, and a member of the Kurdish National Unity Parties, Saleh Kado explained the reason for delaying the third round of the talks, saying: “It is appropriate for the Kurdish National Council in Syria to explain the reason for delaying the third round, as their reactions and positions weaken the talks and block the way to their completion.”

He continued: "Unfortunately, the Kurdish National Council in Syria has recently created some obstacles before the Kurdish dialogue, including the pretext of the issue of burning their party offices by unknown persons, and others publishing media materials against them. In my opinion, their positions are not correct as continuing talks is a great national responsibility to unify the Kurdish political movement."

Preparations were underway to hold a third round of talks between the Kurdish national unity parties and the Kurdish National Council in Syria since the beginning of this February, within the initiative of the leader of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, which he launched at the end of 2019, to unify the Kurdish ranks, the round that was likely to start during the second week of this February, however, it has not yet been completed, amid Kurdish demands for the necessity of achieving Kurdish unity as soon as possible.

Sitting at the dialogue table is a way to solve outstanding problems

Kado noted that the obstacles that the Kurdish National Council in Syria puts down are just arguments and he called on the Kurdish National Council in Syria to re-consider its positions and sit at the dialogue table and brush aside blame."

Creating obstacles is evidence of their links to Kurdish cause enemies

In turn, the Kurdish researcher and politician Azad Ali explained that the obstacles that appear amid the Kurdish discussions that are taking place stem from the mentality of some Kurdish political parties that are far from fulfilling the Kurdish desire and are close with the enemies of the Kurdish issue, and he said: “These parties do not seek to resolve the outstanding differences in dialogue, and they do not bother to reach a unified political vision. "

Azad Ali stressed the need for the Kurdish talks to continue and to expand further to include Kurdish civil society to contribute in their role to solving the outstanding problems between political parties, and to be certain that these discussions are the only way to achieve the Kurdish goal, and to seek all means to achieve Kurdish national unity.
