Mercenary: in charge of sleeper cell stays in Erbil

Since the SDF eliminated the last strongholds of the ISIS in Deir Ezzor's Al-Baghouz on March 23, 2019, the mercenaries have sought to regroup, but the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces continue to pursue the sleeping cells of mercenaries ISIS.

However, the complacency of some forces contributed greatly to the mercenary activity, as ISIS takes the territories occupied by Turkey in northern Syria and some provinces in Başûr (Southern Kurdistan) as a headquarters for planning its attacks.

In the series of operations by the SDF, it dismantled dozens of mercenary cells and arrested their leaders, including the Abu Nimer Al-Juhaishi cell, on March 11, 2020, specialized in smuggling families of ISIS mercenaries from Al-Hol camp towards Iraqi lands.

Dismantling included the arrest of family of the smugglers from the camp, smugglers from Syrian lands towards Iraqi lands, and brokers, without the security forces being able to reach their officials, given their presence in Başûr Kurdistan, according to a mercenary.

Absence of the responsible persons, given that the most important operating in charge officials of the mercenary cells in NE Syria are within those countries without holding them accountable and contributing in curbing the smuggling, managed from their areas.

The confessions of member of the cell "Abu Nimer Al-Juhaishi", whose direct official resides in Başûr and Mosul, which are controlled by Iraqi government.

Al-Juhaishi is one of the ISIS mercenary cells that worked to smuggle families of ISIS mercenaries from Al-Hol camp to Iraqi lands. They were active in the eastern countryside of Al-Hol district near the Syrian-Iraqi border, and administered from Mosul and the capital of Başûr, Erbil.

Al-Juhaishi cell includes six mercenaries from the Iraqi, Syrian nationals, among them, in charge people of the cell, brokers, smugglers at the camp and on the Iraqi-Syrian borders, headed by Hussein Abdo, called Abu Nimr Al-Juhaishi, whom the cell is named after.

According to the mercenary Attallah Muhammad Khalifa, a broker, members of the cell are : head of the cell, Hussein Abdo, who is responsible for smuggling the ISIS families from the camp to the Iraqi lands, Faisal Eid Suddan, nicknamed, Abu MAshaal Al-Shameri, Daham Awad Al-Ali and his brother Abu Salih, and Abu Khaled Al-Sherabi, a smuggler.

Attallah Khalifa, aged (22) is an Iraqi national, a broker in the smuggling, is of a father called Muhammad and a mother called Hadiyah Hussein. He was arrested during the SDF security operation and the Global Coalition against the background dismantling Al-Juhaishi Cell.

Regarding the fate of the other members, he said, "All the cell members were arrested, except for Hussein Al-Abdo and Dahham Awad Al-Ali." because they are staying in Hewlêr and Mosul." According to the mercenary.

The cell smuggled more than 100 people from the families of ISIS mercenaries, most of them Iraqi children and women, according to Atallah Muhammad Khalifa, a mediator.

Al-Hol camp, situated 45 km east of the city of Al-Hasakah, constitutes a great burden on the shoulders of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria, because it is the most dangerous in the world, as it hosts thousands of families of ISIS mercenaries who carry extremist ideas of ISIS.

According to the latest statistics of the Al-Hol camp administration, there are now 5,2051 people within the camp, distributed among 17,110 families, as follows:

Iraqis: 30,706 people, from 8,284 families.

Syrians: 22,380 people distributed on 6201 families.

ISIS foreign families: 8,965 children and women distributed over 2,625 families.

And the arrival of ISIS women and children in February 2019 to Al-Hol camp, and since that time the security breaches in the camp have not stopped, despite the tight security grip imposed by the Internal Security Forces and the SDF.

This danger is evident in the killing, flogging, brainwashing, and escape attempts committed in the camp, which increased after the start of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries in the "National Army" on the regions of northern and eastern Syria on October 9, 2019, and with All of Turkey's threats to the region.

These security breaches in the camp coincide with the increase in the movements of ISIS mercenary cells in separate areas in northern and eastern Syria, most notably what is taking place on the outskirts of Deir Ezzor, according to security officials in the region.

Despite its dangerousness, none of the countries have yet moved to evacuate their nationals in the ISIS, amid constant calls from the United Nations for the necessity to evacuate their citizens, the last of which was when the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Office for Combating Terrorism, Vladimir Ivanovich Voronkov, urged states to evacuate children from those camps.

In the context of the operations led by the Syrian Democratic Forces against the cells that intend to smuggle ISIS families from Al-Hol camp, and cells that facilitate the passage and movement of mercenaries to and from the Syrian and Iraqi lands, the SDF announced, last Tuesday, that it had arrested two leaders of cells operating in this context.

On February 7, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) arrested a smuggler of ISIS mercenaries' families from Al-Hol camp, during an operation carried out in the countryside of Al-Hasaka.
