SDF: Kurdish parties' dialogue is part of our strategy to launch a Syrian-Syrian dialogue

Today, the Public Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Forces issued a statement on the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue talks aimed at uniting the ranks and unifying the political discourse between the Kurdish National Unity Parties and the Kurdish National Council in Syria.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, had launched, at the end of 2019, an initiative for Kurdish unity which achieved many discussions and reactions, and preparations were made in its wake to continue holding the third round of talks.

During its statement, today, the Public Relations Office in SDF said, "The Syrian Democratic Forces affirm their commitment to its initiative and guarantee for the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue aimed at achieving unity of ranks and unifying the political discourse between the Kurdish National Unity Parties and the Kurdish National Council in Syria.

We believe that the existence of some differences in views between the two interlocutors is a natural matter. What is important is to show the political will to overcome differences and show a spirit of responsibility during the discussion sessions, and to give priority to the public interest over the narrow partisan interest, and we hope that media statements from any party will not turn into an obstacle before dialogue.

It continued, "The two parties have made tangible development and serious steps during the previous sessions, and we are very optimistic that the next phase will witness more steps on the way to the success of the dialogue to reach an agreement based on firm national foundations.”

While it emphasized that the Syrian Kurdish parties’ dialogue among themselves is part of the SDF’s strategy to launch a Syrian-Syrian dialogue that includes all the Syrian components, and added, “We ​​are working with all friends to make the dialogue among Syrians a tangible reality, and be a guarantee for a bright and better future for Syria whose people have suffered so much, and have made great sacrifices for years to confront terrorism, occupation and the dictatorial regime.”
