The co-chair of the Lawyers' Union in Jazirah region Khadija Ibrahim said that targeting the captured Turkish soldiers in Garê is a crime of genocide, and noted that the Turkish state has rejected all pleas of political parties and human rights organizations to conduct negotiations with the PKK to restore the captured soldiers, instead, it deliberately executed its captured soldiers in Garê.

“It seeks to conceal his defeat'

Khadija Ibrahim added, "The Turkish state claimed yesterday that the captured soldiers were killed by the Kurdistan Workers' Party," and this matter is a distortion of the facts and a lie that aims to conceal its defeat, with this claim, it seeks to hide its deficiency in Garê. "

On the issue of the killing of the prisoners of war, Khadija Ibrahim said: "This crime should be considered the crime of killing prisoners, and that the Turkish state committed a massacre against the prisoners, and committed a war crime as it did in the regions of north and east Syria."

"All lawyers must take a firm stand and raise their voices regarding this attack and this massacre must be considered a war crime that the Turkish state committed, and work to hold it accountable and prosecute it," she added.

'The Turkish state must be tried'

Khadija Ibrahim said that the crime of the Turkish state against the captured soldiers is a violation of international rights and a war crime, “The laws of Rome, as well as human rights laws and the laws of Geneva consider prisoners of war to be civilians, so the Turkish state’s attack is a massacre against civilians, and it must be held accountable before the international courts as it killed 13 people. "

She also added, "In the attacks carried out by the Turkish state in Haftanin, the Turkish state also tried to hide its defeat, spread misleading news, and it also spreads the same news about Garê. The Turkish state has failed and was defeated in Garê, and it is spreading this false news with the aim of tarnishing the image of the PKK.

If the PKK wanted to kill these prisoners, it would have done so from the first day. The Turkish state was the one that killed its soldiers who were captured by the PKK.

'The attack on Garê is a continuation of the plot'

Khadija Ibrahim noted that the Turkish state carried out the attack on Garê in conjunction with the anniversary of the international conspiracy against leader Abdullah Ocalan, and stated that this was done in a thoughtful manner, adding in this regard: “The Turkish state continues its attacks against the Kurdish struggle in all regions of the Middle East, and it has conducted the attack in a thoughtful manner in conjunction with the anniversary of the plot.
