Popular positions force Turkish occupation to reconsider its calculations

The Turkish occupation's threats to launch attacks on northeastern Syria, and the most recent ones to attack Derik in Rojava and Şengal in Başur Kurdistan (North of Iraq Kurds majority populated regions) have not stopped. On the 23rd of January, ANHA agency uncovered a Turkish plan to launch new attacks against Dêrik in northeastern Syria and Şengal in Başur.

The Turkish intentions became clear after the visit of Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar to Baghdad and Hewlêr, the capital of Başur and his meeting with their leaders, as well as Erdogan's hints to a possible attack on Şengal.

After discovering plot, thousands of people from northeastern Syria went out to the squares to denounce this, and emphasized on escalating the pace of struggle against the occupation.

The Arab and Kurdish clans had great reactions in this context, they confirmed that the Turkish occupation state fought all components of northeastern Syria for thwarting the Autonomous Administration project. Threatening Dêrik and Şengal is evidence of a broad colonial scheme, and deterring the occupation is everyone's duty.

Despite all these, the Turkish plan is still in place. In this context, the Co-chair of the Qamishlo District Council in the Jazira region, Yousef, praised the resistance of the components in the face of the attacks on the region.

And she continued: "The Turkish occupation state always threatens to launch attacks on the region for several goals, including the occupation of the region and creating chaos."

She indicated that "after uncovering the recent Turkish plan, all components united their ranks and expressed their position, that they are determined to live in freedom and dignity, and to repel any possible attack."

'Popular attitudes forced Turkey to consider its accounts'

Berwin Yousef pointed out that "the popular attitudes forced the Turkish occupation to recalculate it." She added, "But this does not mean that the risks are over. Therefore, all people are required to consolidate their ranks."

She emphasized that the unity is capable of thwarting all occupation plans. She said: "What is required now is to intensify efforts to achieve security and stability in the region, promote self-management and build a democratic Syria."

At the end of her speech, she pointed out that the unity of components defeated the mercenaries of ISIS, and thwarted the recent attacks on Ain Issa district."
