Naaso: Damascus government treats Afrin IDPs as strangers

The Co-chair of the Afrin canton Council, Muhammad Naaso, pointed out that the siege by the Damascus government aims to undermine the resistance of the people in occupied Afrin and keep them away from their cause.

In addition to the continuous barbaric shelling by the Turkish occupation and linked mercenaries on Afrin IDPs in Al-Shahba canton and massacring children and women, the government imposes a suffocating siege on the displaced of Afrin there.

In this context, the Co-chair of the Afrin canton Council, Muhammad Naaso linked this siege to the constant shelling by the Turkish occupier and its mercenaries on the people of Afrin.

Naaso said: “After the displacement due to the brutality of the aggression of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries, to Al-Shahba canton, they began a new phase of resistance at camps and semi-destroyed homes against the Turkish barbaric shelling and its mercenaries in the contact line, such as Tel Rifaat and villages of Sherawa sub-district. "

The government treats Afrin IDPs as strangers

He went on: "And beyond this, the Syrian government imposed a suffocating siege on Afrin IDPs, and its security checkpoints spread on Aleppo-Al-Shahba Canton Road prevented the basic needs as if they were not Syrians."

"This has led to an increase in food prices 3 times and an acute shortage of diesel fuel , in addition to a shortage in medical supplies," said Naaso.

He noted: "This siege hinders the resistance of Afrin IDPs, as it confirmed hidden agreements between the Turkish occupation and the Syrian government to break the resistance and the will of Afrin IDPs and carry out the demographic change in there."

He referred to the provocations in Qamishlo and Hasakah, and said: “The provocations in government security square in the Autonomous Administration areas in Qamishlo and Hasakah is the best evidence of bloody agreements it has concluded on the areas occupied by Turkey. The occupation crimes against the Syrian people, and their attempts to sow strife in the Autonomous Administration regions.

At the end, Naaso affirmed that, Afrin IPDS will continue their resistance against the crimes of the Turkish occupier and the Syrian government, no matter what the matter costs them.
