Turkish state, Damascus government's objectives are same in northern Syria

The angry reactions from the Kurdish street, political figures and Kurdish intellectuals towards the policies aimed at breaking the people's resistance continue in regions of northern Syria in general, and in al-Shahba region in particular.

Observers believe that the policy practiced by the Turkish occupation state and the Damascus government in al-Shahba area is somewhat similar, for the massacres committed by the Turkish occupation state from time to time in Tel Rifaat, in addition to the siege imposed by the Syrian government on al-Shahba area amid international silence target Afrin and al-Shahba people's resistance.

After the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries occupied Afrin on the 18^th of March 2018, the people of Afrin were forced to flee to al-Shahba canton, after a historic resistance shown by the people during 58 days in Afrin.

The government of Damascus, after Afrin people'sy displacement to al-Shahba, imposed a siege on the area, and until now the siege is still ongoing, as it does not allow food and fuel to enter the canton, in addition to creating obstacles for the people wishing to enter and leave it.

The Turkish state and Damascus government's objectives are the same

In this context, the Member of Kobane Intellectuals Union, the writer Adnan Hassen, points out that the Syrian government and the Turkish state always try to seize opportunities to weaken the people's resistance for their favor.

According to Adnan Hassen, the aims of both Turkey and the Damascus government were clear during the Turkish attack on Afrin, adding: "The Syrian government wanted and still wants to control the regions of northern Syria, and the Turkish state wants to occupy the entire region."

Hassen notes in the conclusion of his speech that the people of northern Syria, after all the resistance they demonstrated, are not the people who allow any party to impose control over them.

On the 22^nd of this month, the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries committed another massacre against unarmed civilians in Tel Rifaat district of al-Shahba canton, after it was bombarded with shells, leaving 4 victims and 8 wounded, including children.

The four martyrs were the two children, "Majed Yasser Sakran (5 years old), Abd al-Mohsen Sakran (12 years old), mother Nazliya Mohamed Mostafa and Saad al-Din al-Qais."

For her part, the Member of the Central Committee of the Kurdish Left Party in Syria, Guleh Hassen, says: "Despite their forced displacement and the Turkish occupation of their regions, our people in al-Shahba refused to leave and preferred their homeland to emigrating to other countries because they are struggling people in the face of the occupation, are confident of their military force and the Kurdish unit that they are looking for."

Gueh sees that the Turkish state by committing massacres always wants to restore the Turkish history full of massacres against Kurds, and to terrorize people to displace them from their country this time. 

Guleh Hassen condemned the international silence towards the violations and massacres committed by the Turkish occupation state in the regions of north Syria, demanding to break this silence and put pressure on Turkey to limit committing massacres and violations.

 It is worth mentioning that the massacre that was committed this month was not the first amid international silence  , as on January 2^nd, 2019 the Turkish occupation committed a massacre against Afrin displaced after targeting Tel Rifaat district with a number of shells, which led to the martyrdom of 10 civilians, most of them were children, in addition to wounding 12 others.
