Abeer Moussa leads a new move to withdraw confidence from Ghannouchi

The Tunisian Free Constitutional Party bloc, led by Abeer Moussa, began collecting signatures to sign a new petition aimed at withdrawing confidence from the Speaker of Parliament and the head of the Brotherhood Ennahda Movement, Rashid Ghannouchi.

In its statement, the bloc stated that Ghannouchi insisted on "turning against the plenary, abolishing its role, robbing the parliament’s will, and imposing the passage of decisions inside the parliament’s office by force and violating the law."

It also considered that these practices “threaten state institutions and predict an open intention to overthrow the legitimacy, and to enter parliament to implement an unknown political scheme and consequences,” and stressed that Ghannouchi's remaining at the head of parliament “has become a threat to the national security of the country that must be put to an end.”

Voices rose, within the parliament, warning of the repercussions of Ghannouchi's continued stay in office on the parliamentary performance and on the future of political stability in the country, and Ghannouchi had previously faced the risk of being removed from his post during the last period.
