Hunger strike to lift isolation enters 40 day

Political detainees in Turkish prisons continue the hunger strike campaign that they launched on November 27 of last year, with the aim of breaking the tight isolation that the Turkish state applies to the leader Abdullah Ocalan.

This campaign has started forty days ago, and the hunger strikers say that they will continue their hunger strike until the isolation of leader Ocalan is lifted.

Since the start of the campaign, eight groups have joined the hunger strike, and pressures in prisons have also increased.

The Turkish authorities are exerting great pressure on the strikers to force them to abandon their campaign.

In a related context, the hunger strike campaign has continued in Makhmour camp since the 18th of last December at the Martyrs' Families Center to demand the freedom of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, which has passed for nineteen days.

It is planned that the prisoners of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party (MLCP) will join the five-day hunger strike campaign after the seventh of January, in solidarity with the PKK and PKK detainees on hunger strike in Turkish prisons.

The detainees of the Marxist-Leninist Communist Party stressed the need to end the isolation imposed on the leader Abdullah Ocalan.
