Raqqa women: Laila Guven ideal for striving woman

Women from the city of Raqqa have made clear that progress made by women on the political arena deranges Turkey, as her struggle and thought perceived by Turkey as a danger, and that Laila Guven is an ideal for emancipated and free women, as well as a symbol for liberty and peace.

Parliamentarian and co-chair of the Democratic Society Congress, the DTK, Laila Guven, was sentenced to 22 years imprisonment, that led to a wide range feminist discontent all over the world. 

Members to the Women's Administration of Raqqa condemned the arrest by Turkish authorities of the parliamentarian and striving Laila Guven, as a political violence against activist women eager to freedom.

Member to the Women's Administration in Raqqa I'timad al-Ahmed indicated that the aim by the Turkish Occupation State is to weaken women, and to put an end to her bids on the political arena, and strike at the will of all women. 

Al-Ahmed made clear that '' sentencing Laila Guven to 22 years imprisonment is a blow to the liberty and peace adopted by Laila Guven, to preserve thought and ideas, to prove to Erdogan the tyrant that her will is much stronger than the fascist policy'', and that'' activeness and progress made by the Kurdish woman on the political arena derange Turkey, as politician Hevrine Xelef was assassinated by the Turkish Occupation Forces''.   

From her part, member to the Reconciliation Committee in the Women's Administration in Raqqa, Emina Hamdan, said that what was done by the Turkish Occupation Forces against peoples in North and East Syria never pacified it, as Laila Guven, who called for her legitimate rights was arrested and thousands went on hunger strike in Turkish jails to make this hunger strike a model for all peoples all over the world.

Emina Hamdan concluded that '' we all adopt ideas of Laila Guven, we would stand up to Turkish Occupation State, as breaches perpetrated our struggle increases''.
