Hundreds of Christians in Derik and all denominations flocked to churches to celebrate the Christmas rituals, which were limited to holding religious hymns and prayers in light of the spread of the Corona virus.

The celebration began with the tunes of church bells and the performance of prayers, hymns and rituals for the birth of Christ.

In the Mar Gerges Chaldean Church in Derik district in Qamishlo canton, the pastor of the church Jamil Simon Ishua began reciting hymns and prayers and reading the Holy Book.

The church's choir troupe also performed a number of religious hymns and chants, prayers and supplications on this occasion.

At the conclusion of the ritual, sweets were distributed and Christmas greetings were exchanged.
