Hisham al-Baqli, head of the Salamn Center- the Zayed Centre for Research, said that sanctions on Turkey would affect negatively the Turkish economy and activities in the region if imposed, especially the unrest, but this effect would be slight for the time being, but may increase if the sanctions were abided by internationally, as search for indicting Turkey increases to to the movements in eastern Mediterranean and support the terrorist organizations. ,

Al-Baqli, in an interview with ANHA, Noted that sanctions would impinge on Erdogan internally, as the Turkish people have rejected many Erdogan adopted policies, as rejection increases after sanctions.

Head of the Salamn Center- the Zayed Centre for Research, made clear that timing of these sanctions come as the U.S. president Donald Trump prepares to leave office as an indication that these sanctions and decisions may make some changes as the new U.S. government of Joe Biden takes office.

But the reality, according to al-Baqli, ''never lies in the passing of the sanctions on Turkey, rather in mechanisms of putting that into practice, and abideance of some countries by that especially those dealing with Turkey directly as having interests ties''.

Sanctions by the U.S. on Turkey were imposed after purchasing by Turkey of the 400 Russian missile system, as the European Union decided in the last meeting to impose sanctions on Turkey due to provocations in eastern Mediterranean, with suspension of execution until the next meeting in March 2012 to monitor Turkey's conduct.
