The direct Israeli flight to Rabat took off 12 days after the announcement of normalization, and Kushner said before the plane took off that "Morocco and Israel want to strengthen their rapprochement," noting that US President Donald Trump "worked to create a different policy in the Middle East."

On December 10, Donald Trump announced the normalization agreement between Morocco and Israel, which includes restoring diplomatic relations and flights between the two countries, making Morocco the fourth Arab country to announce normalization with Israel this year after the UAE, Bahrain and Sudan.

Israel announced the first commercial flight from Israel to Bahrain on October 18, and its first direct commercial flight to the UAE on December 1.
