On the occasion of the Cejna  Êzî Day a statement was released by the Movement for a Democratic Society, the TEV-DEM to the Yazidi community, reads as follows:'

'' First of all, we congratulate the Yazidi community, all components of the region and all martyrs' families  on the advance of the Cejna Êzî Day, which follows three days of fasting to the creator, hoping that it would be a prelude to peace, welfare and brotherhood between all peoples of the region as it was in Mesopotamia.

Êzî who created the universe and then sun, moon, night, day, nature, life will, man, faith and confidence, is celebrated in Kurdistan and Diaspora.

This year, the day comes as the Kurds in general and Yazidis in particular undergo a critical phase, as a result to the October 9th, 2020, Shengal Agreement by Hewler and Baghdad orchestrated by Turkey, that implies giving allowance to more crimes and new fermans to eradicate the Yazidi people in the region, and contracting parties to the agreement were those extricated from their moral responsibility to protect the Yazidi people in Shengal,  in spite of all suffering and grievances inflicted on Shengali people in the last six years, without delivering any humanitarian or logistic assistance by such parties.

The Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party that spare no effort to undermine the will of the Yazidi people and deny their values, culture and history and strike at the gains made pushed by Turkey, with the aim to destroy their historical heritage of resistance, and to rob and loot properties as they are doing in Afrin and Sere Kaniye.

We, in the Movement for a Democratic Society, the TEV-DEM, congratulate the Yazidi people as we are hopeful to be a usher a new phase of brotherly dialogue based on mutual recognition to put an end to the Ottoman and Turanid aspirations and for the Yazidis to enjoy the Êzî morally and humanely again.

We call on the international community and human rights organizations and all the concerned associations that advocate for the protection of the religious minorities of whom the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS and the United Nations that classified the 2914 as a genocide to take their moral responsibilities to protect ethnic and religious minorities and all components of the region''.
